Overview
Pilgrim Place is a nonprofit continuing care retirement community in Claremont built around service, justice, environmental stewardship, and resident-led community life. Founded in 1915, it now combines independent living with assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing on a 32-acre campus. Its admissions model is also distinctive: new residents must be at least 60, or one partner in a couple must meet that age, and applicants must demonstrate a life of service. That makes community culture central to the housing decision.
HOMES
Pilgrim Place offers 185 private residential living residences, including individual homes, duplexes, triplexes, and apartments, ranging from 600 to 1,800 square feet. Residences are occupied through the community’s CCRC model rather than conventional home sales. For 2026, the published non-refundable entrance fee is $475 per square foot for single occupancy, plus $95,000 for double occupancy; a deferred-repayment option is $807.50 per square foot, plus $95,000 for double occupancy. Monthly charges combine rent, dining, and residential fees. No current home-sale price was verified.
