When you first think of Wilmington, you probably think “beach”, but USA Today readers voted it “Best American Riverfront”. Since the article was written, The Riverwalk has almost doubled in size and offers great restaurants, entertainment, and shopping. – USA Today

If you enjoy the great outdoors, Wilmington, North Carolina won’t disappoint. On the whole, the residents are very active and fit. The birding opportunities on foot or by kayak are endless. You’ll cruise by historic downtown, ride past The Children’s Museum, through the beautiful UNCW campus, by the Arboretum and Airlie Gardens, and find yourself at Johnnie Mercer’s Pier in Wrightsville Beach. Not a biker? You’ll have your pick of opportunities to join in on tennis, swimming, golfing, surfing, yoga, and of course Pickleball. If you aren’t into exercise, you’ll certainly want to take advantage of eating outside almost any time of the year.
