The area boasts top-notch medical facilities and the town's Cultural Center houses a 500-seat theater offering year-round classes in everything from Japanese embroidery to belly dancing; And, there's great bird watching in 42,000-acre Charlotte Harbor Preserve State Park, which has hundreds of avian species and is crisscrossed with hiking trails and kayaking blueways.
The Riverwood Beach Club offers a private, custom built Beach Club just north of the public beach in Englewood and is available exclusively to Riverwood residents. Membership here involves a one-time initiation fee and annual dues.
The Clubhouse Grille invites residents to enjoy food, spirits and good times. The community bar and grille is a great place to unwind with some friends after a round of golf or set of tennis. The Clubhouse is available for private parties and does catering.
The fitness room in the Activity Center offers residents state-of-the-art exercise equipment with a variety of fitness programs directed by certified instructors. For a nominal fee, residents can participate in any of the following programs; aerobics, weight training and water aquatics.
