Benefits of Soursop

I have heard many stories about various fruits and vegetables that reduce the risk of cancer. So, when a friend told me about this cancer-fighting fruit called soursop, and to add it to my breakfast routine, I wondered a bit as to why she was insistent on this fruit is such a good preventer of cancer. I was also a bit curious as to why if it was so good, that we don’t hear much about this wonder-fruit. As is the usual case, I conducted a little research and came up with a few facts, which I decided has to be shared with you, my readers.

Soursop – The Fruit

The soursop is found in the tropical regions of the world. It is a flowering evergreen tree that bears a long, prickly, large, green fruit with a white pulp – a bit acidic, in taste, – that can be eaten straight off. You can also make juices with this fruit and add them to salads. In Brazil, the Soursop is known as Graviola and guanabana in Spain. This fruit is packed with nutrients that include carbohydrates, fructose, and various vitamins, and ascorbic acid. 100g of soursop contains 3.3g of dietary fiber, 20mg of vitamin C, 27mg of phosphorus, and 14mg of calcium. This fruit helps you to maintain a healthy heart, digestive health, prevent osteoporosis and may help overcome kidney diseases and liver problems. By the way, you can’t eat the skin.

Soursop – The Cancer Fighter

So, the news I found the most informative, is that soursop is a cancer cell killer that is 10,000 times stronger than chemotherapy. A bit hard to believe right? So, I did a bit more searching. .. According to research, this wonder-fruit,

  • Attacks cancer safely and effectively without all the side-effects of chemo that include nausea, weight loss, and hair loss.
  • It also protects the immune system, therefore, fighting deadly diseases, which further reduce the risk of developing cancer.
  • The fruit also helps you feel stronger during the course of treatment.
  • And helps boost your energy and outlook on life.

I dug around some more and found out that some of America’s largest drug companies have tested this fruit for its benefits since the 1970s. So, what did these tests reveal? This will blow your mind.

  • This fruit can effectively target and kill malignant cancer cells in 12 types of cancer that include breast, lung, and colon cancer.
  • It proved to be up to 10,000 times stronger in slowing the growth of cancer cells than commonly used chemotherapeutic drugs!
  • The fruit only targets and kills cancer cells and does not damage the healthy ones as with chemotherapy.

Apparently, there has been some extensive research that has gone on into this fruit. So, how come, it is news to me and maybe, you? I can only conclude that big medical corporations want to make their money and because of this, have kept this news under wraps from us.

But, now you know about it! So, I don’t know about you, but I plan to make sure that my day begins with a large glass of soursop juice. I have to tell you this, it does taste amazing!
