Easy and Tasty Labor Day Weekend Barbeque Ideas

It is time to put away the bikinis and board shorts and sunscreen and pull out coats, scarves, and hats. The Labor Day weekend is almost upon us, and if you have decided on a barbeque to celebrate the end of the summer, here are a few ideas for a tasty Labor Day weekend barbeque.

Grilled Steak Burgers with Port Wine Spread

This is a tasty Labor Day weekend treat that will have your neighbors and friends coming back for more every year. All you need are well-grilled and seasoned patties, Ciabatta bread, melted cheese, and a port wine spread. The port-wine spread can be made by heating 1 tbsp of olive oil and adding shallots and cooking for 1 -2 minutes under medium heat. Pour in the wine once translucent and add beef base and water after a quick boil. Stir. Simmer the mixture for 20 – 25 minutes and remove from heat and cool once the mixture has thickened. Mix this slowly into mayo and place in a container and refrigerate until ready to use. Season beef patties and grill and place in Ciabatta bread and serve hot. Yummy!

All-American Burger Dog

What better way to celebrate the end of summer than with an All-American Burger Dog. Make rectangular shapes with well-seasoned 1 pound ground beef and roll into logs. Preheat your grill for medium-high heat and cook burgers until brown. Add in a slice of cheese on each burger dog and grill till it’s done and remove from grill. Toast the hot dog buns till nice and brown, on the grill, and spread mayo, and place the burger on the bun. Add ketchup and you are ready to dig in!

Corn on the Cob

Nothing goes with a Labor Day weekend barbeque unless there’s grilled corn on the cob. Make sure you don’t remove the husks but remove the silks when soaking in water. Coat herbal butter on presoaked corn with the removed husks, and pull the husks back up and place them on the grill. Cook for 15 minutes and turn occasionally. Once this is ready, you can enjoy your barbeque.

So, there you have it… easy recipes for this weekend’s Labor Day barbeque. Don’t be alone or lonely this weekend. Invite your neighbors and friends and celebrate the end of summer.
